THEY WERE LOUD AND THEY WERE ORGANIZED AND STAYED ON THE SIDEWALK AND THEY DID ATTRACT ATTENTION. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT DID NOT HAPPEN AT LAX A NUMBER OF POLICE OFFICERS OBVIOUSLY BUT THE TRAFFIC. AS YOU CAN SEE HE WAS BUSINESS AS USUAL. SOME OF THESE PEOPLE COMING AND GOING ARE UNION WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE WANT TO LET THE CITY KNOW THAT WE MEAN BUSINESS IN OUR NEXT CONTRACT. REPORTER: PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE KAMALA HARRIS WAS ONE OF THE SPEAKERS AND SO IS JESSE JACKSON UNION ORGANIZERS HAD PROMISED 1500 MARCHERS WOULD BE THERE. THE CROWD DIDN’T APPEAR TO BE THAT LARGE BUT THEY WERE LOUD. THEY WERE ENTHUSIASTIC AND THEY WERE THERE THEY SAID BECAUSE THEY WANTED PEOPLE TO KNOW WHEN CONTRACT TALKS BEGAN EAGER FROM NOW JOB SECURITY, HEALTH BENEFITS WILL NOT BE COMPROMISED THIS IS NOT A STRIKE. NO ONE BLOCK TRAFFIC OR PREVENTED TRAVELERS AND FROM DOING WHAT THEY NEEDED TO DO WHEN THEY GOT TO THE AIRPORT.
