UCF Housing Tour: Libra Community

Welcome to the Libra housing community
at UCF. My name is Selena and I’ll show you around. Libra is located right next door to several campus resources. Health Services is where our residents can see a doctor if they’re not feeling well. You can also fill your prescription and shop at a small convenience store there. Ferrell Commons is where you’ll find ’63 South, one of our buffet-style dining halls. If you have a meal plan, then Libra is as close as it gets. The Libra Community Center is a great place for having group events. We hold
study sessions, community programs, and you can also use the community kitchen
inside. Across the breezeway, the office is open 24 hours a day. Just
past the office we have the mailboxes and laundry rooms for the whole
community, with ice and vending machines in the hall. In Libra, we have two styles
of suites: the square-shaped and the L-shaped. The square-shapes are located in
Citrus, Flagler, and Sumter Hall. The L-shapes are located in Brevard, Orange, and Seminole. Let’s check out the L-shape. All exterior doors of Libra are locked to
the public. Each resident is given access on their student ID to their specific
building, hallway, and suite door. Our L-shaped suites break the room into two
areas and give a sense of individual space. Each resident will have their own
desk, closet, and bed that can be raised or lowered to create more space. Now,
let’s take a look at the square-shaped suites. Our square-shaped suites have a more
open feel and residents can configure the space however they choose. Again, each resident will get their own desk, closet, and a bed that can be raised or lowered
to create more space. Each of our suites have a vanity outside of the bathroom. An
awesome feature of our square-shaped suites is how they’re all connected by a
living area that we call a pod. Here, our residents are able to collaborate, study,
and socialize with their neighbors. That concludes our tour of Libra. Thanks for taking a look with me. See you at move-in!
