What uh, cultural competence asks us to do, is to self-assess. Right? We have to understand a little about the continuum of cultural competency and we have to ask ourselves where we fall on this? And we have to ask ourselves where our organizations, our companies fit on this? And we have to ask ourselves – and I did with Mosaic recently- Where does our city fall, right? As a city? As we think about importing remote workers people from outside of Tulsa, where do we land? As you look at this, Cultural Destructiveness Cultural Incapacity Cultural Blindness Cultural Pre-competence Cultural Competence and then Cultural Proficiency. Let’s start with you personally Who’s willing to say where they think they fall on this continuum? I’m Yvonne Davis with LUXA Enterprises here with Kuma Robers. Today, we officially kicked off our 2019 Coffee and Credits DNI series. And the topic for today was Cultural Competencies for Inclusive Leadership It was awesome! It was my first time doing this speech that allowed me to do a little research on my own and bring it to a group of people that honestly we found out today where the choir. We often have these conversations with people that are already on the same wave length. We want to talk about taking that message out in order to expand that message to others. I appreciate the opportunity Yvonne for having me come. I hope to come back again. And we’re going to do it in a big way and a have richer conversation about these topics. It was great.
